Personal Best Competition

A fun optional year-long competition that rewards improvement and consistency. Build your lowest score on every hole throughout the season and compete for prizes within your flight.

How It Works

Starting with the tournament in which you enter, STMGC tracks your lowest score on each hole throughout the season. Your Personal Best score is simply the sum of your lowest score on each of the 18 holes accumulated during the year. The earlier you enter, the more tournament rounds count toward improving your score.

Flights

  • Flight A: Handicap Index 9.9 and below
  • Flight B: Handicap Index 10.0 to 15.9
  • Flight C: Handicap Index 16.0 and above
  • Flight A: Plays from Black Tees
  • Flights B and C: May play from Black or Blue Tees

Determining Your Flight

Your Personal Best flight is determined using the Handicap Index in effect for the first monthly tournament following your entry into the competition. Once assigned, your flight remains fixed for the remainder of the year, regardless of subsequent handicap changes.

Competition Rules

  • Net scores are based on the Course Handicap in effect for that tournament.
  • For NCGA events with reduced handicaps, full Course Handicap will be used for Personal Best scoring.
  • Entry is not retroactive; only rounds played after entering the competition count.
  • Results and standings will be published throughout the year.

💰 Prize Distribution

  • 1st Place: 50%
  • 2nd Place: 30%
  • 3rd Place: 20%

Prize fund collected is awarded separately for each flight and category. Ties split prize money equally.
